A Letter from Dr. Patel

Dear Patient,

When I was around 10 years old, I remember chipping my front tooth after falling from my bike. It was an eye opening experience for me. I remember waiting over 3 weeks till the tenderness finally went away. We only went to the dentist when something hurt, and the pain went away, so I decided to let it be. What didn’t go away was the physical damage on that front tooth. But I never wanted to visit the dentist because I was too scared. Subconsciously, it caused me to have lower self esteem and to smile less. And it lasted for a long time. And it sucked.

Four years later, I regained my smile when a dentist in my local community was able to fix my tooth. Along with my smile, I also regained my self confidence. This made me realize the value of a healthy mouth. I would go on to receive a lot more dental care, including extractions, braces, palatal expanders, and restorative care. Some of these experiences were great, and some were not so great.

Why do I share my personal story? It’s important for me to share with you that I have been on the other side. I know what it feels like when you have to conceal your smile, or to stay in pain because of fear and anxiety. These are barriers that no one should have to tolerate.

Today, I have made it my mission to break down these barriers for everyone around me. The Dental Home was created with the mindset of cultivating strong relationships with patients, so that oral health care can be delivered in a safe, culturally sensitive, individualized and accessible manner.

As a prospective patient, you may also wonder about the physical nature of our facility. I am excited to showcase all of the features of our state of the art office including the ultra-leather treatment chairs, the comfort menu with warm towels and neck pillows, or the technology such as the 3-dimensional scanner or the Cone Beam CT which detects disease at an early onset. All of these serve the purpose of providing you with the best possible care that you deserve. But most importantly, these amenities will be used as an adjunct after truly understanding your chief concerns and creating a custom treatment approach for you.

Ultimately, when it comes to your oral health, I want you to feel that you have a Dental Home: a space where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. A place that you can come to for any and all your dental needs. I want you to entrust us to care for you, and to have the confidence that we will take every measure to prevent negative dental experience. I am blessed to have a strong team of providers and support staff who share this commitment of passionate and customized care with me.

I will conclude by making a promise to you. A promise that The Dental Home team is here to listen to you, understand you, and treat you like we would treat our loved ones, while maintaining the highest standards possible.

Thank you for your time.
